Good Golly, Miss Molly

Good Golly, Miss Molly

Shane Murphy

Congratulations to Molly Dooling on making her international debut this week with the Republic of Ireland Under-15s. Having come off the bench as a substitute in Sunday’s 5-0 win over hosts Croatia, the Blues U17 player started for the Girls in Green this morning in a 3-2 defeat to Slovakia. Wearing number 19, Molly can be seen in the pictures celebrating the opening goal in today’s narrow defeat and on the ball in the win against Croatia.

An attacking midfielder with vision and grit, Molly signed for Waterford FC last month from Cappoquin Railway FC having impressed in Waterford’s Gaynor Cup campaigns in 2025 and ‘26. Amazingly, the Blackwater Community College student only turned 14 in July, but she is making a strong impression with the Blues Under-17s so far.

It’s not a bad way for Molly, from Ballyduff, to finish up the summer holidays with a week in Croatia. She, and the rest of Chelsea Noonan’s team, will play one more game on Friday morning against Ukraine before returning home.
